Wholesale neon glass for Colorado sign companies
Hand-bent, processed neon tubes made to your patterns, for new builds and for repairs on signs already in the field. A working Colorado Springs glass shop you can call, backed by a one-year guarantee on all work.
A neon bender on call for your sign shop
Plenty of sign companies still get neon work: a restaurant that wants a real glass feature sign, a property manager with a vintage marquee, a customer who refuses to settle for LED flex. Not every shop keeps burners, a bombarder and a pumping station in-house. That's where we come in. Boyd's NEON supplies Colorado sign companies with wholesale glass for new projects and for repairs, so you can say yes to the neon jobs that come across your desk.
Boyd Struble has been bending neon since the mid-1980s. He learned the trade in Denver, moved to Colorado Springs in the 1990s and opened his own shop in 2001. That's more than 30 years in the neon industry, and a lot of glass for other people's signs.
Who it's for
- Colorado sign companies that design, build and install signs but don't bend glass themselves.
- Sign installers and service techs who need a replacement tube for a sign already hanging on a building.
- Sign designers who want real neon in a project and need a glass shop to produce it.
Sign companies in Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Fountain and Monument are a short drive from the shop, and wholesale glass is available to sign companies statewide, from Denver and across the Front Range.
What we supply
- Hand-bent, processed tubes from your patterns for new signs, ready for you to mount, wire and install.
- Replacement tubes for repairs on signs in the field, whether one cracked letter or a whole broken section.
- Color matching where possible. Older signs used many different glass and gas combinations. Send us details and photos of the existing tube and we'll tell you how closely we can match it.
How the glass is made
Every tube follows the traditional process. We bend glass tubing by hand over a flame to match your full-size pattern. Electrodes are attached, then the tube is heated in a bombarder to drive out impurities that would shorten its life or dirty the glow. It's pumped down to a vacuum and backfilled with neon or argon. Neon gas glows red-orange on its own; argon with mercury in phosphor-coated or colored glass gives the blues, greens, pinks and whites.
How to order
Call 719-391-0466 or email boyd@boydsneon.com with your patterns or full-size drawings, the colors you need, and any notes on electrodes or how the tubes will be mounted. For a repair, send photos of the damaged section and the sign around it. We'll review the job and quote it. Every job is different, so call to discuss your schedule.
Pickup at the shop
Finished glass is picked up at our workshop at 5735 Industrial Place, Unit C, Colorado Springs, near the airport. We're open Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 4:30pm. If you need another arrangement, ask when you call.
Why a local glass bender still matters
Boyd used to bend a lot of neon pan channel letters. Through the 2000s, LED took roughly 90% of that market, and the neon side of the sign trade shrank with it. Today we're one of the rare neon workshops left in southern Colorado. When a customer asks you for real neon, or a vintage sign on your service route goes dark, a glass bender down the road means you can take the job instead of turning it away.
